Editing to present action in a way that it consumes less time on screen than the story. Editing to prolong time. Transmit narrative information smoothly and clearly over a series of shots. This makes editing play a role in narration.

This shot is taken from the view of the person looking/speaking
What is a Point of View Shot?
The opposite of harmony:simultaneous or consecutive musical notes which (according to convention) sound harsh or unpleasant

Derived by how it looks like a J and L sometimes. J cuts are commonly used in dialogue and can be used in a flashback or memory. With L cuts, the audio from the preceding scene carries onto the second scene
