What is Secure Saver?

Secure Saver MSA is Security Health Plan’s Medicare Medical Savings Account (MSA) plan. It is a special type of Medicare Advantage plan that combines a high-deductible health insurance plan for Medicare Parts A and B (Original Medicare) with a medical savings account. Members use a MSA to pay for qualified medical expenses tax-free, while the high-deductible plan limits out-of-pocket costs.

If a Security Health Plan Medicare Advantage member need emergency or urgent care services from a doctor in Florida, what do they need to do?

If it is an emergency or urgent service they should first get the services/treatment they need and it will be a covered service subject to their plans copay or deductible.

A deductible is the amount a member is responsible to pay before Security Health Plan will pay for the services they received.

When should a Security Health Plan Medicare Advantage member use their Original Medicare ID card for medical services?

Members should not use their Medicare ID card and only use their Security Health Plan ID card for all medical services except hospice services.

If a member receives a service that states 20% coinsurance, what will the member have to pay?

The member will be responsible to pay 20% of the Medicare approved amount for that service. Security Health Plan will pay 80%.

If a person lives in Madison, Wisconsin can they get the same Medicare Advantage plan with Security Health Plan as a person who lives in Green Bay, Wisconsin?

No, our Medicare Advantage plans have specific service areas based off county of residence.  The exception is the MSA Secure Saver which is offered in all WI counties.

Can a Secure Saver member add Prescription Part D drug coverage to their plan?

Yes, a Secure Saver member can have a Stand-alone Part D prescription drug plan from another company or from WI SeniorCare. Security Health Plan does not have a Stand-alone Part D plan.

Members pay the provider they received the care from the copays/coinsurance or deductible amounts.
