A system in medieval Europe where lords give plots of their land to vassals, who oversee the peasants who farm on it, in exchange for the lord’s protection.
Feudalism
Large landowners who ranked below a king but above common people.
Nobles/Lords
A person in the feudal system, usually a lesser noble, who pledged loyalty to a lord in exchange for a plot of land.
vassal
Armored warriors who protected the monarchies
Knights
A male ruler in a monarchy who rules over a territory and passes his rule to his children.
King
A form of government where a single person known as a king or “monarch” rules.
