How do you let the school counselor know you want to talk about something?
Write me a note telling me that you want to see me and a sentence or two about what you want to talk about
. Please include your first and last name, your teacher's name, and the date. You can also ask your teacher to email me.
What is a small group counseling?
Counseling that takes place with just a few students. We discuss a topic that group members have in common such as problem solving skills, friendships, anger, and much more.

What should I do with the note if I want to see you?
You can give it to your teacher to give to me. You can ask them to not read it if you don't want them to. You can also give it to me if you see me.
Do I ever work with other School Counselors?
Yes! I work with Mrs. Nichols who is the counselor for grades 1, 2, 3, and a couple of the kindergarten classes. I also with with other school counselors in the area to come up with ideas for our students.
Where is my office?
It is in the main office toward the back.
Will I get to see you right away if I write a note?
That depends. If you are having a real emergency, I will get to you as soon as possible. Otherwise, I will meet with students in the order I received the notes.
How many kids do I work with at once?
It depends, sometimes just one at a time. I also will work with more than one to resolve conflicts or friendship concerns. Sometimes I work with a small group of students or the whole class.
