How do you search for a repeat positive case?
In CommCare, click on "repeat positive" bin, scroll down to green search cases button & input MPI (using a capital P!)
Case has original positive test date of 3/1/21. Case has second test date of 4/10/21 but tells you they have not had any symptoms since 3/7....what scenario would this fall under?
Why that would be Scenario A!
A RPP case first tests positive on 12/10/20. Second positive test is done on 4/18/21 but the person has been asymptomatic since end of last isolation period. Does this person still have to isolate?
Yes, Of course they do!! Why? Because second test was outside of umbrella period!
What is the actual definition of the 3-3-2 call protocol??????
3 call attempts, morning, noon, and evening, calling 3x in a row with each attempt
Case has indicated on past follow ups that they will need an isolation release notice, however, you are unable to reach them for end of isolation call. Do you send release notice anyway because you have already indicated in your notes that Case will need one?
No!!! Absolutely not!! No call, no notice.
What is I use the green search button but I can't find my file? How should I mark this file?
Mark as file expired on excel sheet and mark date of status. Files will expire after 14 days
What is the "umbrella period"?
90 days from end of last isolation period to new test date
Case refuses to provide contacts but otherwise completes initial interview, what should you do?
Do not include in refusal log unless it is a full refusal. Do not elevate refusal to provide contacts but instead indicate in your top note that Case refused to provide contacts
Should I use the 3-3-2 call method for follow up calls?
Follow Up calls will be made with 1 set of 3 rapid calls per day
What is the protocol for communicating with a team member who is covering files in your absence?
Send an email to your teammate with MPI numbers and instruction for what each Case needs, ie: end of isolation, follow-up calls, initial interview. Make sure you CC your supervisor too!
What prework needs to be done on RPP files?
Evaluate lab results. If you do not see 2 or more lab results in Case file, notify your Supervisor. Copy & paste lab results & Patient info into a holding area such as excel of Microsoft word sheet- Remember, this information is coinfidential medical records and must not be saved!

What are the conditions that must be met in order to be considered a "breakthrough" case?
Case MUST be fully vaccinated
Moderna/Pfizer - 15 days after Case had their 2nd dose qualifies as fully vaccinated
Johnson & Johnson - 15 days after Case had their single dose qualifies as fully vaccinated
Case MUST test positive
Case MUST be symptomatic (expected mild symptoms)
Case MUST be vaccinated in NYS

If a RPP file has an invalid telephone number and both CT Assist and L/N search does not reveal any additional contact info for RPP file, what should you do?
Send an e-mail listing the MPI to Supervisor who will forward to the County. If the County cannot find additional info, they will let Supe know. He/She will then instruct you to close the case.
What do you mark for initial disposition when a Case is living in a nursing home, assisted living, group home, rehabilitation, dormitory, etc?

What criteria needs to be met in order to extend a Case's isolation period?
The Case still has a fever or has not been fever-free for at least 72 hours without the use of fever reducing medications
And/or, the Case has no improvement/worsening of symptoms

All test dates in Case file. Try to get as much test info as possible ie: location & reason for test
IF A FILE IS UNREACHABLE OR UNSUCCESSFUL, SHOULD YOU JUST MARK THE REINFECTION QUESTION "YES" TO ERR ON THE SIDE OF CAUTION?
IF A FILE IN UNREACHABLE OR UNSUCCESSFUL, THE REINFECTION QUESTION IS LEFT BLANK! IT SHOULD NOT BE MARKED AS "YES" OR "NO". THAT WAY THE STATE HAS THE CORRECT DATA. BY ANSWERING THIS QUESTION IT WILL REMOVE THE FILE FROM THE BIN WHEN IT SHOULD REMAIN!
What do you include in your daily file count when working on the RPP project?
You will continue to track calls from the Repeat Positive Project on the Daily Count Form. All interviews completed, unreachables and follow ups from the Repeat Positive Project should be counted as normal. Calls that result in a repeat positive being classified as a continued positive are not tracked.
Case was in an enclosed public space or workplace during infectious period, should I escalate this situation?
