Deep Breathing, mindfulness, meditation, walking away, 5 senses, affirmations, listening to music, being outside, spending time with an animal, showering, calling crisis line, ect. 


You can feel multiple emotions at once 


It's possible to feel multiple emotions at once, which is called mixed emotions. These emotions can be similar or opposite, and they can occur with varying intensities. For example, someone might feel both happy and sad at the same time

No, a common thinking error is Feelings as Facts. Believing that if you feel something it must be true.

Anger can be a good thing. It can give you a way to express negative feelings, for example, or motivate you to find solutions to problems. But excessive anger can cause problems. Anger is an Iceberg emotion.


Affirmations or Positive Self Talk - are positive phrases that people repeat to change their thought patterns and build positivity which can help boost mood and self esteem. What are some affirmations you can say to yourself?

Pleasant activities are activities that people do voluntarily that bring them positive feelings like enjoyment, amusement, or pleasure


What is catastrophizing? 

Catastrophizing is a cognitive distortion that prompts people to jump to the worst possible conclusion, usually with very limited information or objective reason to despair. 

Catastrophizing may be your way of anticipating and coping with an upcoming threat.

Irrational thoughts that influence how you see the world, how you feel, and how you act. 

Cognitive distortions are biased or irrational thought patterns that can cause people to perceive reality inaccurately. They can distort how people see themselves, their lives, their relationships, and other people. These distortions can lead to negative feelings, such as guilt or blame, and can contribute to mental health conditions

To reduce extreme emotion mind fast. Change your body chemistry.

T - Temperature : Change your body temperature, splash cold water in your face, hold an ice cube, take a cold shower 

I - Intense Exercise : Do something to match your intense emotions, go for a walk, a sprint, jumping jacks, push ups, dance, chair yoga

P - Paced Breathing : Try Box Breathing - Breathe in for 4 seconds, hold it for 4 seconds, breathe out 4, and hold 4, try other breathing techniques like bubble breathing 

P - Paired Muscle Relaxation : Focus on 1 muscle group at a time, tighten you muscles as much as possible for 5 seconds and then relax, repeat for other muscle groups


Anxiety is the most diagnosed mental disorder


The most common category of mental health disorders in America—anxiety disorders—impacts approximately 40 million adults 18 and older. Anxiety disorders cause people to experience distressing and frequent fear and apprehension.
