When the wintertime rolls around people tend to feel more overwhelmed, stressed, anxious, and depressed. Why does this happen, what is this often called, what can you do to help treat this? 

This happens because people are spending more time inside and there is less sunlight, which provides the body with Vitamin D. Vitamin D helps to make Serotonin and Serotonin is the hormone in your body that elevates your mood. This extremely common set of symptoms is Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). If you are experiencing these symptoms, you can go get a light box from the Counseling Center to help you feel more awake and happier.
