Keeping kids safe
Staff members supervise students during this duty. They stand in assigned area of the building at the start and end of the school day.
What is HALL DUTY?
These children are proud to be students from Miamisburg Middle School.
Who are the VIKINGS?
This occurs once per month, typically on the 2nd Monday after school at 3:10.
What is the MONTHLY STAFF MEETING?
Teachers will meet for a beverage and then collapse on this date.
What is May 23, 2019?
It is expected that all students recite THIS on Mondays.
What is THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE?
This drill is held monthly and involves evacuating the building once an alarm has sounded.
What is a FIRE DRILL?
When you do this you listen carefully and make other people feel important.
What is showing RESPECT?
YOU JUST EARNED 200 free points for your team. Hooray!
What is free?
We have 10 Fridays on the school calendar this year that will be used for professional development
What is a 2 Hr Delay?
This is what you do to show us that a child is missing during an evacuation.
What is HOLD UP A RED CARD?
This is the proactive approach used to monitor a large area in order to ensure safety and reduce problem behaviors.
What is ACTIVE SUPERVISION?
These people are responsible for teaching and reinforcing the MIAMISBURG MIDDLE SCHOOL Behavior Expectations in classrooms and all common areas within the building.
What is ALL STAFF?
This team communicates and collaborates with the MMS Building Issues, Social Emotional Needs of the students, and the MMS building goals.
What is the Building Leadership Team?
Teachers will meet with parents on September 18th and March 5th.
What are Parent Teacher Conferences?
Our district and building goal is that 80% of our students score proficient or higher on the Ohio State Tests.
What is an ACADEMIC GOAL?
The last thing this person does is walk through the bus lot to make sure all students are quickly getting on the bus.
What is the BUS DUTY?
Students sit 7 to a table, are not permitted to get up once seated, and are responsible for cleaning up their area before leaving.
What is STUDENT LUNCH?
These persons are leaders of a specific subject area. Teachers should use these persons as their first line of communication with questions about curriculum, teaching materials, and grading practices.
What is the DEPARTMENT CHAIRPERSON?
On August 6th and 7th we will meet and greet students and their families during this event.
What is OPEN HOUSE?
Teachers should arrive at school at 7:50 and be at their duty location by 7:55. Students are dismissed at 3:00 and teachers end their day at 3:05.
What is the TEACHER'S CONTRACTED WORK DAY?
This group facilitates the implementation of a school wide behavior plan and tiered system of support for behavior.
What is the DISCIPLINE COMMITTEE?
During THIS a team works to identify the reasons for problem behavior and develops a behavior plan.
What is a FUNCTIONAL BEHAVIOR ASSESSMENT or FBA?
These are the 3 Behavior Expectations of our students.
Be Responsible, Be Respectful, Be Safe.
August 31 from 3-5 will be the first of these for the school year. We will need teacher help to make it a success!
