What is read mode?

A text or graphic that when clicked takes the viewer to a different location or program.
What is a hyperlink?
Word Feature that allows you to copy formatting from one block of text in your document to other blocks of text.
What is the format painter?
A collection or group of styles that can be applied to a document to give it a professional appearance.
What are Document Style Sets?
Share a file in this mode to ensure the file will work for someone using an older version of MS Word.
What is compatibility Mode?
Process of applying a format that changes the position of the paragraph, such as alignment, tabs, or indents.
What is paragraph formatting?
The eight small boxes and circles around the perimeter of a graphic. These boxes or circles enable you to manipulate the selected graphic.
What are handles (or square handles)?
A grid of columns and rows that you can fill with text and graphics.
What is a table?
Combining adjacent cells into a single larger cell.
What is merge or merging?
Appears faintly above text when you first select it, contains commonly used commands.
What is the mini tool bar?
Stylizations you can add to text: strikethrough, superscript/subscript, shadow, and small caps are examples.
What are text effects?
A type of graphic that can be positioned anywhere in a document.
What is a floating graphic?
Reference sources used or cited in your document, and are usually included in a bibliography when the document is complete.

A cell address composed of a column letter and row number.
What is cell reference?
When Word calculates that enough text fills a page, this type of page break is inserted.
What is a soft page break?
Pre-designed tables created by Microsoft.
What are Quick Tables?
A point on the horizontal ruler that indicates the location at which to align text.
What is tab stop?
A formatting mark that forces the text following the mark to begin at the top of the next page.
