What is a traitor?
The static winter camp of armies in the winter months. The most famous was at Valley Forge, Pennsylvania during the winter of 1777-1778.
What is winter quarters?
The act of betraying your country to an enemy.
What is treason?
The formal statement that declared the US free and independent of control by Great Britain.
What is the Declaration of Independence?
A formal binding agreement between two or more countries usually sealed by signatures of representatives.
What is a treaty?
The official governing body of Great Britain made up of the House of Lords and the House of Commons.
What is Parliament?
An oppressive and unjust government ruled by a tyrant, or absolute ruler.
What is tyranny?
Deadly and very contagious measles-like disease that killed or permanently scarred many people during the 18th century.
What is smallpox?
Common 18th century term for food, or rations.
What is victuals?
The sparse food item made of water and flour, cooked on a flat rock near a campfire. Many Continental Soldiers only ate this during the Revolution
