- Patient does not speak English
- Patient has unmanaged suicidality, psychosis, or cognitive symptoms
- Patient is unavailable during group times
- Patient has participated in formal mindfulness training in the past 3 years
- Patient only has pain related to cancer
- Patient does not have any risk factors related to opioid use
- Patient is younger than 18
