Chromosomes
I like science jokes but only periodically
Is there antibody out there
I lost an electron, are you positive
Did you hear, oxygen and magnesium got together
100

The cell grows, preforms routine life process, and prepares to divide.

What is interphase?

100

Second phase of mitosis during which chromosomes line up at the equator of the cell.

What is metaphase?

100

Third phase of mitosis during which sister chromtaids seperate to opposite poles of the cell.

What is Anaphase?

100

Last stage of mitosis during which chromosomes uncoil to form chromatin, the spindle breaks down and new nuclear membranes form

What is Telophase?

100

First stage of mitosis during which chromatian condense into chromosomes, the nuclear envelope breaks down, centrioles seperate and a spindle begins to form.

What is prophase?

200

Splitting of the cytoplasm to form daughter cells when the cell divides.

What is cytokinesis?

200

Coiled structure made indies of DNA and proteins containing sister chromatids that is the form in which the genetic material of a cell goes through cell division.

What is the definition of Chromosome?

200

Region of sister chromatids where they are joined together.

What is the definition of Centormere?

200

A minute cylindrical organelle near the nucleus in animal cells, occurring in pairs and involved in the development of spindle fibers in cell division.

What is the definition of Centiroles?

200

Organelle inside the eukaryotic cells that contains most of the cell’s DNA and  acts as the control center of the cell.

What is the definition of Nucleus?

300

Attach to the centermere of each pair sister chromatids.

What is the function of Spindle fibers?

300

The DNA of a chromosome is encoded with genetic instructions for making proteins.

What happens to chromosomes?

300

As the centrioles move, a spindle starts to form between them.

What happens to Centrioles?

300

Fialments that form the mitotic spindle in cell division

What is the definition of spindle fibers?

300

Control center of the cell

What is the role of nucleus?

400

each copy of DNA attaches to different parts of the cell membrane.

What is the role of cell Membrane?

400

These instructions are organized into units called genes.

What is the role of Chromosomes?

400

Help in the formation of the spindle fiber that seperate chromosomes during cell division

The role of centrioles?

400

Region of DNA on each eukaryotic chromosome that has town major functions during mitosis

What is the role of Centromere?

400

Forms a protein structure that divides the genetic material in a cell.

What is the role of spindle fibers

500

A unique feature of the nucleus is that it disassembles and re-forms each time most cells divide. At the beginning of mitosis, the chromosomes condense, the nucleolus disappears, and the nuclear envelope breaks down, resulting in the release of most of the contents of the nucleus into the cytoplasm.

What  happens to the nucleus?

500

the DNA/chromosomes replicate and one set of chromosomes, with some of the cytoplasm and its contents, goes to each new "daughter".

What is the end result?

500

What has the most genes code for a single protien?

What is Chromosomes ?

500

At the end of anaphase each pole of the cell has a complete set of chromosomes.

What is the end of anaphase?

500

Mitosis
