What are the three stages of interphase?
G1, S-phase, G2
What happens to chromosomes in prophase?
They condense
The cytoplasm fully splits and leaves separate two daughter cells
What happens in S-phase?
DNA is replicated
What pulls the sister chromatids apart in anaphase?
Mitotic spindle
What's one thing that occurs in G1
Rapid growth/replication of cell organelles
What is the main thing that happens in metaphase?
The chromosomes line up in the middle of the cell
What's different between animal and plant cells' cytokinesis stage?
Plant cells have a rigid cell wall, which does not allow them to pinch inwards like animal cells, instead they grow a new cell wall outwards in the middle (which builds a wall between the nuclei and splits them into two cells)
What is the purpose of G2?
To complete any final preparations for mitosis, and repair any damages beforehand
What reforms during telophase?
The nuclear membrane and nucleolus
