  • Will frequently state "I want to die." repetitively.
  • She may make statements like “I will just lay on the floor and die here.”

It has been observed out of frustration that she will make statements like “I just want to lay on the floor and die” or “I’ll just die.”

Interventions:

  • Notify BSS immediately if Linda is heard speaking about suicidal ideation.
  • Linda appears to state this when she is feeling overwhelmed emotionally and appears to state this when she is attempting to self soothe.
  • Brother Tracy states that she has always made statements similar to this when she feels overwhelmed.
  • She may be attempting to get a need met and has difficulty expressing that need to staff. You can offer her basic needs like: Food, water, check for pain, toileting, etc.
  • Attempt to ask her if there is anything that she may need or ask her "what do you need from us in this moment." It may help trigger her to state what need she is attempting to get met in the moment.
  • -Offer active listening.
