Open are available to anyone interested in AA or NA program of recovery from alcoholism. People without substance use addictions may attend open meetings as observers.

If a community member calls a treatment center (without a set intake quarter) everyday asking for open beds does that effect their wait time?
Yes, my sources within multiple treatment center have stated they would deny ever stating this but I have been told that if CM's call everyday they can potentially get a bed sooner.
What is the first step in Alcohols Anonymous?
We admitted we were powerless over alcohol—that our lives had become unmanageable.
Can MOAT transport Community members to treatment centers located far away from Edmonton such as Calgary or Bonnyville?
Yes we have in the past however it would be ultimately up to the manager and their would need to be the last option available to the CM.
Does NNADAP cover transportation costs?
Yes! unless the community member is incarserated and treatment is part of their release plan.

Anyone concerned with their substance use or the Substance use of a loved one is welcome in an open AA meeting.

When is the best time of the month to attempt to get into detox?
Pay day, it tends to be when people leave the detox and when people have the best chance of making it in.

Once a week we conduct presentations at the Spady Detox, we rotate 5 different presentations all relating to substance use.
