Who is Effie Trinket?
Why does President Coin grant immunity to all of the captured tributes, guarantee that Katniss gets to kill President Snow herself and says they can keep their cat, Buttercup.
These are Katniss' demands for agreeing to become the Mockingjay.
He was the other winner of the 74th Hunger Games and was captured by the Capitol and brainwashed into believing that Katniss is the enemy. He tries to kill her when they meet up in District 13.
Who is Peeta?
"They're coming, Katniss. They're gonna kill everyone. And, in District 13, you'll be dead by morning!"

On camera while captured, Peeta gives Katniss a warning that all of their lives are in danger. It was a coded message that the Capitol is going to assault District 13.

He is Katniss' best friend and hunting partner. He helped create the bomb that killed Prim.
Who is Gale?
Katniss is not believable in the first commercials they made, so they put her in a real situation because they think it will encourage people to rebel.
Why do they reshoot the commercial in district 8 and visit a hospital that gets attacked while they are there?
He won the 50th Hunger Games when he was 16. He is the mentor for all of the District 12 tributes.

Who is President Snow?
Peeta is the last tool the Capitol has against Katniss, and they'll use him against her in any way possible.
Why does Katniss talk about her history with Peeta on camera and say that the Capitol can't use threats on Peeta against her anymore?

She is President of District 13 and ordered the bombing that killed Prim. Katniss assassinated her during Snow's execution ceremony.
Who is Coin?
The Nut is a mountain where the Capitol keeps a lot of armed forces and supplies. The rebels have had a tough time getting close to it.
Why do the rebels create an avalanche on the Nut and keep its citizens from escaping?
She is the Victor of the 70th Hunger Games and is from District 4. She was captured by the Capitol at the end of Catching Fire. She marries Finnick in District 13 after being rescued.
