What is parallel or parallel first?
To step one foot forward and rotate your body 180 degrees without your feet leaving the floor
What is a pivot turn?
"to twirl;" tendu to a la seconde, rande de jambe the leg back (to fourth or fifth position), lift the leg up to passe', and rotate on eleve' while spotting
What is a pirouette?
Standing in 2nd position, leaning 45 degrees either left or right while creating a flat line from the hip to fingertips with arms reaching overhead

To curve the spine forward or inward

A large kick
What is a battement or grande battement?
3 step movement; kick, place the ball of the foot on the floor, change weight and place the opposite leg out (in any direction)
What is kick-ball-change?
standing leg straight, working leg stretched, pointed through the foot, and disengaged from the floor

3 step movement; step forward, opposite leg lifts to passe', small jump back while you battement the opposite leg forward
