Did a man or a woman invent the modern zipper?

Man. Gideon Sundback, a Swedish American engineer, perfected the modern zipper in 1913 while working for the Universal Fastener Company. He improved earlier, less reliable designs by increasing the number of interlocking teeth and creating a stronger, smoother fastening mechanism. Sundback’s design closely resembles the zipper we still use today.
