If I was to measure/estimate the height of a full-size tree in my backyard, would it be easier for me to measure/estimate in meters of centimeters? Why?
It would be easier for me to measure in meters because the size of the object helps us know which unit we should use. Smaller objects are easier measured in centimeters. Since I know a full-size tree is larger than a meter, it would be easier to measure the height of the tree in meters.
Luna was knitting a scarf. When she started knitting on Saturday, the scarf was 12 cm long. By the end of the day, the scarf was 39 cm long. How many cm of scarf did Luna knit on Saturday?
