Why do we see the different phases of the moon? Use CER to answer.
Reflection of light from the sun off of the moon and the moon's orbit
It is midnight. I notice I have seen all the phases of the moon occuring in one night. Why? Explain using CER.
Lunar eclipse
Why is the distance between high and low tide so extreme in a spring tide and so moderate in a neap tide? Explain.
During a spring tide the gravitational pull is all in the same directions which makes the high tides really high and pulls more from the low tides making the difference between the two extreme. In a neap tide, the moon and sun pull in different directions meaning the pull is less and the tides are less.
Explain why we have seasons. Use the word revolution in your answer.
The Earth revolves around the Sun and is tilted on its axis.
How are moon phases related to eclipses, tides?
Eclipse- solar- new moon, lunar- full moon
Tides- Spring- new or full moon, neap- 1st or 3rd quarter moon
