The “R” stands for relevant. Creating a relevant goal ensures that the time taken to achieve the goal isn’t wasted. For example, a relevant goal to recovery would be to abstain from any activity that may trigger an addiction, attend this group weekly/other community support, attend individual sessions, etc.
