Emails, phone calls, and word of mouth are all efficient ways to get the word out about each meeting. These are sent out the week before the meeting occurs.

Themed Topics
Each month has a different topic that aligns with things that the students typically face during that time (i.e. December "Relax, Relate, Release" students reflected on the semester and learned about test-taking strategies and overcoming test anxiety).
100
Tuesdays (once a month) 6-7pm
We selected a day and time that least likely conflicts with students' classes or other typical student organization meetings/events. This isn't a heavy time commitment for our students, but occurs consistently enough to keep them engaged.
100
Conducted twice
Once at the end of each meeting, and once at the end of the academic year (in a comprehensive program survey).

"This session was really thought provoking. So far, MORE has been helping keep me focused on who I am and what I want to do."
Defining the Who and Discovering the What About Our Future November, 2013
200
Initial Meeting
All students enrolled in LAB are required to attend the first meeting, in order to maintain an active status in our program.
200
Connect students with resources!
We introduce resources (i.e. helpful places/websites to visit on campus) that many students aren't aware of. We also provide thought-provoking literature to aid the students' learning and promote individual growth.
200
Student Activities Building
Our meetings are held in a centralized location on campus, which is easily accessible to a majority of our program participants.
200
Surveys as a food voucher
All students must return their survey before they are dismissed to the food area for dinner.
200
"I really liked the interactive activity we did today. It made me more willing to talk in front of this group. Could we do more?"

Snapshot Descriptions in Emails
In addition to the title of the meeting, students receive a short description of what was covered in the previous month and what will be covered in the current month.
300
Icebreakers!!
Our introductory activity always set the tone for how our meeting will run. We always have the students participate in a quick, yet interactive icebreaker that relates to the topic for the month (i.e. January-"Major Milestone" activity was Celebrities Making the Grade)
300
Encouraged to bring friends!
LAB recruits our program participants at the beginning of the academic year, so we are only able to accommodate a limited number of students. This gives other students on campus the chance to enjoy some of the perks of our program, although they are not enrolled.
300
Confidentiality and Anonymity
Names and other identifying information are not written on the survey. We assure students that we use these surveys to ensure we are meeting their needs as well as our program goals.
300
"Hits dead on the nose every time and the information provided is always right on time or appropriate for our positions within our college career."
Major Milestone February, 2014
400
Exclusivity for Sophomores
Our students appreciate that we have crafted these meetings just for them. Many academic programs on campus are often only targeted towards first year students.
400
Meeting Titles
Our meeting titles are attention-grabbing, and coincides with the theme for the month. (i.e. "Major Milestone" helped students navigate through the process of selecting a major)
400
FREE FOOD!
At the end of each meeting, students receive a small dinner (i.e. Jimmy John's, Happy's Pizza, Noodles & Company). Free food is always a great way to attract students. This also gives our students time to fellowship with one another!
400
Being concise is key!
The survey only has 9 short questions with likert scale responses, and a space for open commentary.
400
"Fabulous!!! I always leave inspired and reflecting on my life."

Atypical Set Up of Conference Room
The chairs aren't always set up in a "lecture hall style." Often times, we arrange the seating in a circular set up to create a conversational atmosphere.
500
Respect Introspect!
A lot of our discussions and activities push our students to think introspectively and critically about their personal, professional, social and academic progress. The comfortable atmosphere of our meetings allow students to share their thoughts and feelings.
500
Invite Guest speakers
This is a great way to collaborate with other offices/organizations on campus. We invite other students and faculty to speak to our students on topics that align with our theme for the month.
500
Content
Asks students about their interest, topic relevance, facilitator's efficacy and engagement, opinion on timing, need for follow-up, and how they heard about the meeting.
500
"I would love more workshops like this."
