It is a demonstration of God's power which they could not deny because it was a physical shaking of the ground. It's great imagery of his strength if one of his angels could do that just from speaking!
Why do YOU think Heavenly Father chose to give Alma the Younger a second chance rather than just punishing him?
E.g. He has blessed him and us with the ability to repent from our mistakes and right the the mistakes we have made.
Heavenly Father wants us to grow and improve. If we are willing to try to become better, He will help us.
What can we learn from verses 29-30?
- Alma was able to be converted and change himself.
- Through God he was "pained no more".
How can we be like Alma the Younger?
Choosing to fix our mistakes and trust in Heavenly Father rather than rebelling against Him!
