This actor seems like the most famous movie star in Argentina. He is in almost every Argentinian movie or TV series that I have seen, including The Eternaut and Argentina 1985.
Ricardo Darín
A former lawyer has returned to a small town to investigate a brutal murder that happened many years ago. He becomes obsessed with the case and tries to discover who was responsible while also confronting his own feelings about the past. The Argentine film (2009) won an Academy Award and stars Ricardo Darín and Soledad Villamil.
The secret in thieir eyes
This animated series from the US is famous across the world. It focuses on a family where the mum has tall blue hair and the dad is very stupid, in the fictional town of Springfield. I used to watch it every day with my siblings.
The Simpsons
He has starred in Titanic, one of the highest-grossing films of all time, and he has worked with directors such as Christopher Nolan and Martin Scorsese. He has won an Academy Award for his role in The Revenant and has also appeared in films such as Inception, The Wolf of Wall Street and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
Leonardo DiCaprio
A young girl gets trapped in a mysterious world filled with spirits after her parents are magically transformed. She must find a way to save them and return to the human world while meeting strange and unforgettable characters. Released in 2001, the Japanese animated film was directed by Hayao Miyazaki and became one of the most celebrated animated films of all time.
Spirited Away
This is a movie franchise than is still going. The first three movies came out before I was born, then the second trilogy were released when I was a child. In it, there is an ongoing fight between Jedis and the Sith in a Sci-Fi world.
Star Wars
She became famous for playing Mia in The Princess Diaries and later starred in films such as The Devil Wears Prada, Les Misérables and Interstellar. She won an Academy Award for her role in Les Misérables and has also appeared in several successful romantic comedies.
Anne Hathaway
Released in 2002, this Brazilian film follows a young boy growing up in a violent neighbourhood in Rio de Janeiro. As he gets older, he becomes interested in photography while many of the people around him become involved in organised crime. The film shows the rise of drug gangs and violence in the neighbourhood known as the City of God.
City of God
Released in 1994, this animated film follows a young lion who dreams of becoming king and has to face his evil uncle. The voice cast includes Matthew Broderick, James Earl Jones and Jeremy Irons, and it features famous songs like Circle of Life and Hakuna Matata.
The Lion King
This is my girlfriend's favourite actor. He is from England and is the most recent actor to be Spiderman. Although he looks very young, he is actually over thirty and has been in two of the biggest films this year.
Tom Holland
Released in 2019, this South Korean film follows a poor family who gradually find ways to work for a wealthy family. As they become more involved in the rich family’s home, their situation becomes increasingly complicated and dangerous. It mixes dark comedy, drama and thriller and became the first South Korean film to win the Palme d’Or and the Academy Award for Best Picture.
Parasite
This is the first of eight movies based on a series of books by a British author. In it, an orphan discovers his magical powers and is sent to school in a castle in Scotland. I still love it and recently read the Spanish translation of the book.
Harry Potter and the philosopher's stone
She was born in Spain and has worked with famous Spanish director Pedro Almodóvar on several films. She became internationally famous after appearing in Vicky Cristina Barcelona, for which she won an Academy Award. She has also starred in Pirates of the Caribbean, Volver and Vanilla Sky.
Penélope Cruz
Released in 1995, this French film follows three young men living in a poor suburb of Paris during a period of social unrest. After a friend is seriously injured by the police, tensions in the neighbourhood continue to grow throughout the day. The film explores poverty, racism, police violence and social inequality.
La Haine
There have been many version of this story, orgianally written 1865. The animated version always scared me when I was a child. In it, a little girl falls down a rabit hole and encounters a creative world ruled by the tyrannical Red Queen.
Alice in Wonderland
