Includes all of our life essentials: blood, plasma, stem cells, and organs and tissues.

What is Biological?

400

The part of our mission statement that relates to our higher purpose to save and improve patient lives.
We are part of a nation wide chain of links and infinite connections - connecting employees, volunteers, medical and research professionals, donors and recipients.

What is Lifeline?

500

Every day, we connect generous donors with recipients to help save lives.

We inspire Canadians to give by delivering an exceptional experience – easy and personal – where everyone feels valued.

What is our donor experience ambition?

500

Carry oxygen to the organs and tissues and removes carbon dioxide through the lungs. It is used during emergencies, surgeries and cancer treatments.

What is Red Blood Cells?

500

Protect the body from infection. They can also carry viruses and bacteria and, for this reason, are removed from any donated blood.

What is White Blood Cells?

500

Is a liquid component that carries nutrients to all parts of the body and carries waste products out of the body, acting like a cell transportation system. It is also rich in vital proteins used to treat patients undergoing extensive surgery or trauma, and patients with bleeding disorders.

What is Plasma?

500

Provide the basis for clotting, which helps control bleeding. It is used to treat patients with bleeding disorders and cancer.
