Plot

1st Person Point of View

Flat

The part of the story which reveals what happens to the characters, occurs after the climax.
Resolution
The main idea or message of a story.
Theme
The narrator is all-knowing and can reveal the thoughts and feelings of all characters in the story.
3rd Person Omniscient Narrator
A character whose personality, background, motives and other features are fully described or explained by the author.
Round
A character whose personality remains largely unchanged throughout the course of a story.
Static
The central part of the story during which various problems arise.
Rising Action
The perspective from which the story is told.
Point of View
The main character in a story.
Protagonist
Conflict between two like beings. One struggling for victory over another.
Person vs. Person
A character who shows change or growth whether positive or negative over the course of a story.
Dynamic
The part of the story which follows the turning point and leads to the endings.
Falling Action
The time and place in which a story occurs.
Setting
The struggle between opposing forces.
Conflict
A character is battling between two competing desires or selves, typically one good, one evil. A problem within.
A character is trapped by inevitable destiny, freedom will often seem impossible.

The background information on the characters and setting is explained in this part of the story.
