What must you do if you have a question?
Quietly raise your hand and wait to be called on, or wait for the teacher to come to you.
Is getting a drink of water from the fountain typically permitted during class?
No. This should be done during passing time or you can pair it with a bathroom break. Water bottles are also allowed, so long as they are filled prior to class.
If you want to have a conversation before class, where should you do that?
In the hallway
What do you do when the teacher, or a student that is called on, is speaking?
Pay attention to the speaker and be active listeners using a voice level 0.
Who should you ask when you don't understand something?
The teacher!
What happens if you have to fill out a "Reflection Form"?
You fill it out thoroughly and honestly. You will discuss what you wrote with the teacher.
When can you go to the bathroom?
Before or after class, or when you are excused to do so during a time in class when it it appropriate. Be sure to sign up on the board!
How do we line up at the door
Quietly and hands to ourselves. We do not open the door until the bell rings.
Are you allowed to eat in class?
No, unless I give you a treat.
When I am teaching, our voices are at what level?
Zero! If they are not, we begin working through the behavioral flowchart.
What items are not allowed in class?
Gum, food, cellphones or fidgets.
When should you sharpen you pencil(s)?
Before class
When can you not go to the bathroom?
During the first and last 10 minutes of class. Also, you cannot go during "direct instruction."
How many warnings do you get each day for being disruptive, not working or talking when I'm talking, etc.?
When do students get a "reflection form"?
When students are disruptive, etc., usually after two warnings.
What should you use to write with on classwork?
A pencil. We DO NOT use markers, colored pencils, or crayons to write with.
When the bell rings, where should you be?
In your seat working on the warm up.
What do you do if you need a tissue?
Get up quietly from your seat and get a Kleenex from either the front or the back of the room. Sit back down promptly.
How do you enter the classroom?
Walk quietly to your seat, follow directions and start your warm-up or bell-ringer.
What day of the week will you need your Chromebook?
Mondays. All other days Chromebooks are parked on the shelf.

To prevent disrupting our learning
Will I repeat myself more than once?
Not unless a student requires such an accomodation. Follow directions the first time. Not doing so may be subject to a warning or reflection form.
What is the one rule that applies to all of aspects of class: entering class, during class and dismissal?
Use kind words, gestures and language to EVERYONE. Keep your hands, feet and objects to YOURSELF.
If I need to write a referral, who will I contact?
parents/guardians as well as administration
What are the four things you need for class every day?
Pencil, Calculator, Notebook, Workbook. (Bonus: Binder!)
What happens if your content assignment is missing for more than 5 school days?
You receive a 0 on that assignment. Daily work is not accepted beyond the end of the period.
Where should we keep our hands and feet?
To ourselves!
I give you the two-minute warning. What do you do?
Gather materials, clean up around your table, sit quietly and wait to be excused. Once excused, push in your chair and line up quietly at the door and wait for the bell.
What behaviors will be considered an immediate referral (major) without any warnings given?
Not keeping hands/feet/objects to self. Using unkind or inappropriate language or gestures. Demonstrating unsafe behaviors.
