How does Sales activate the Marsh MRP on a specific p/n for a customer already approved by the GM as a stocking customer?
Sales checks the Marsh MRP box
100
How often is the ABCD code updated?
Weekly, just prior to the MRP running.
100
What does CUSINV SO# stand for?
Customer Inventory Sales Order
100
When it is time to bring in a release of a "D" item, how much should the PM bring in?
Goal is 1-2 turns/year, so 12 months usage, or at least 6 months usage.

A customer submits their MRP to us and it is processed into PO Req/MRP. Where can the PM see the customer's MRP?
Click on the + sign and it will appear below the MRP window.
200
When Sales checks Bond Required & loads a quantity, the system creates a bond order. What does this mean to the PM?
Nothing. BOND orders are for sales use only.
200
If the VAC Top Level p/n is an A item, does that mean all the raw materials will be coded as A items also?
No, each raw material is categorized on its own.
200
What would generate a CUSINV SO#?
If the MRP flag is removed and not rechecked on the same day, in any warehouse if there is any OHA inventory or any product on order, the system will create an order.
200
MRP determines, and you agree, an A item will be out of inventory and Marsh is unable to fill the requirement needed for 6/3 (red on 6/3). You need to place a PO for what requested dock date?
One month prior, 5/3, or 4 weeks prior, 5/6.
200
Some p/n's not only have Red & Green quantities in the MRP, but also a burgundy. What does that color represent?
It is only on A or B items, and it represents Marsh "dipping" into Safety Stock.
300
When would Sales use the Sales Hold feature?
Multiple answers apply (requoting, redesigning, etc.), and they all lead to Sales wants to be sure PM does not order any additional product.
300
A & B items have 2-weeks (default) Safety Stock. At a minimum, what amount of that quantity should the PM carry in stock?
100% of it - always have the Safety Stock level filled.
300
When a CUSINV SO# is created, both the salesperson & PM are alerted. What does the PM do next?
All within 30 days, determine true customer liability, adjust quantity if appropriate, and enter promise date (or cancel line item if no liability).
300
If a C item has an 8 week lead time, we should have the inventory requirements covered (stock and/or pipelined) how far out?
16 weeks (for both C & D items, add an additional 8 weeks to the lead time)
300
If we are stocking a part for a customer as a direct sale out of APL, and we are stocking product for the VAC for a stocking Top Level part, which warehouse will the MRP default to?
Whichever has the larger MRP demand.
400
If the PM wants to know if the EU date was just renewed or extended, where is that information stored?
The Sales Note screen shows all fields that are part of the Watchdog program - this is one of those fields.
400
ABCD is based on a $$ value. What formula is used to determine the $$$ to categorize it as ABCD?
All EU's entered x the average cost = $$$
400
Customer has acknowledged they are liable for the quantity, and will issue a PO shortly. Sales requests the CUSINV SO# be cancelled. What does the PM do?
Offers to cancel the CUSINV SO# once the customer PO is entered, or push out the request/promise date to allow for additional time.
400
A items are the largest yearly $$$ items, with a target of 8-10 Turns. If possible, how many weeks worth of inventory should the PM bring in at a time?
4 weeks, or bring the product in once a month.
400
The MRP shows a lead time cutoff date. What is this based on for a B item?
The leadtime in TOLAS, plus 4 weeks. This is the same for A items. For C/D items it is TOLAS leadtime plus 8 weeks.
500
What two reasons would the system remove the MRP flag?
EU agreement has expired, or, for Marvac assemblies, there is no active quote.
500
Why would a D item show a demand of "0" on the MRP?
No history in the last 12 weeks, yet there is history within 13-52 weeks. If not, the EU quantity would create a weekly demand.
500
Customer isn't liable for all of Marsh's inventory, or pipeline, and Marsh has no other customers. What does PM do next?
Try to return to supplier, and as the final option, send to Amy to process an inventory write-off against Marsh Corporate or Marvac.
500
What MRP feature can a PM use to see what would happen to inventory if the PM would push out a request date?
The Simulator - it allows a PM to "play" with request dates, promise dates, and quantities to see what it might look like. It is a "what if" feature.
500
Our commitment to Sales is to alert them no later than this point if we see a possible delivery/inventory issue coming?
At a minimum, if the MRP turns red anywhere within the next 4 weeks.
