If it is a paper assignment, just turn it in. Mrs. Garcia does not need an excuse as to why it is late. In fact, do not tell her - just turn it in and she will grade it.

If the assignment was already graded on que, email Mrs. Garcia or else she will not know to update the grade. If the assignment was not posted on Que yet, there's not need to email; however, better safe than sorry.
check the daily slides, if the daily slides says there was a paper assignment then check the absent folder.
