Let them see you at work; don't leave your seat or call out to the visitor.

1. If at all possible, wait until a restroom break. 2. Don't ask to go while Mrs. Gillespie is talking to the whole group. 3. Don't ask to go during an assembly. 4. ALWAYS: Walk to and from the bathroom silently and behave responsibly in the bathroom.

Immediately stop talking and say "YES, YES" in the same voice that she used.

What is one thing to remember about using the Smartboard responsibly?
1. Don't use a dry-erase marker or any writing utensil other than the ones on the tray on the Smartboard. 2. One person at a time touches the screen. 3. The Smartboard is a tool, not a toy.

When is it okay to get a drink of water?
1. Don't ask to get a drink while a teacher is talking to the whole group. 2. During independent work time, it's okay to get a drink from the classroom fountain without asking. 3. Water bottles are okay as long as the lid is on; they need to be kept on the back counter any time we are using technology. 4. No liquid except water is allowed in the classroom.

What is the procedure for entering the classroom (at the beginning of the day, after specials, or after lunch)?
Check the board for messages and start working silently. When there is no specific work on the board or desk, read or write in your writer's notebook.

What should you do if a netbook stops working correctly?
Step 1: Restart the computer following the onscreen directions (remember, don't ever push the power button to shut down!) Step 2: If it still doesn't work, tell Mrs. Hamman and try a different computer if one is available.

What is the proper way to stand and walk in line?
The student of the day holds all of the doors. Don't touch anyone or anything (including the walls). Stop at all designated stops. Any time you are in a line you need to be completely, 100% silent, whether you are walking or standing still.

What is the procedure for bringing cell phones at school?
1. If you bring a cell phone to school, turn it off and leave it in your backpack during the school day (including lunch and recess). 2. Please don't bring a cell phone to school unless you are prepared to comply with Rule #1.
