Reading the whole time, staying in your spot, not getting distracted by other.

All students one behind the other, line up quietly, hands by our side, walking safely, and eyes forward.
What do we do for pencils?
Make sure I have 2 sharp pencils each morning. A pencil sharpener will sharpen. I can always borrow from our desk organizer.
What is fake reading?
Looking at the book but not reading words/pictures, looking around, getting up, talking with friends.

Cafe Expectations
Sit at your table, raise hand if you need restroom and place red cone on your seat. Line up quickly and quietly when teacher comes.
How does the teacher get your attention?
She says Class, Class and we say yes, yes. We stay quiet and fold our hands in front of us
Why should you pick a spot to read away from friends?
You will be too tempted to visit/talk with your friend.

Use your thumb and pinky finger to show 6 inches apart talking quietly with partner.
Where do you turn in work?
At the back shelf that says classwork with our name highlighted!
Play safely with hands to yourself, include others, line up when teacher calls you, voices off before we go into the building.
How do we get our teacher's attention?
Raise our hand (quietly) and wait to be called on.
What is reading stamina?
Being able to read a long time without getting tired or giving up.

Talking at a regular voice level at your table. Should not be shouting!
Where should your take-home folder go at the end of the day?
In your backpack!
What is the carpet expectations?
Sit comfortably, hands, feet, and body to self, eyes on the speaker, lips are closed, stay in your spot.
What is the procedure for bathroom?
Use the signal (one finger in the air). Not during teaching time- independent work time. Go to the restroom quickly and quietly.
What is IPICK?
I pick a book, purpose, interests me, i can comprehend, and Know most of the words

At least 2 pencils, eraser, crayons, colored pencils, scissors, and highlighters.
