What is a needed material for class?

1.  Pencils for daily assignments

Is reusing an essay or a project I created from another year or class considered plagiarism?

YES! You would have to cite yourself, of which you can't for an entire project as that is a form a plagiarism. Citing too heavily is plagiarism. Not citing is plagiarism.

All feedback needs to be acknowledged and changes made. If you pick and choose what to change, it will not be regraded.

YES! Did you write it? Did you think it? Did you create it? Nope---so PLAGAIRISM! District policy states AI cannot be used, or cited, for any writing assignments.

For every day work is late, it will deduct 2% per day up to 10% of your final grade.

Fill out a REDO FORM and complete it in full--be specific! If it is not attached, work will not be regraded.

If I notice damage done, what should I do?

Tell Mrs. Resch. She catalogs all the damage and knows the current conditions of her Chromebooks. NEVER STAY SILENT or you could be held responsible.

Can I make a quote mine if I take a quote and replace a few words?

No, that is plagiarism! You can paraphrase, but you still need to cite it.

Where can I find the lessons for the class?

Canvas-->Modules. Going to the "To Do" list isn't enough. Review lessons as needed and complete all coursework.

What are the two hard deadlines in the trimester?

The week of PTC and one week before the trimester ends.

How do I resubmit work done electronically?

You must HIGHLIGHT any changes made. This means you will unhighlight the work that has already been graded and only HIGHLIGHT the changes made. If it isn't, it won't be regraded.

Are cell phones, ear buds/earphones, smart watches, or any other personal electronic device allowed in class?

NO! Per Utah state law, it is ILLEGAL to have any (P.E.D.) during instructional time.

What is cheating?

Copying answers, copying a friend/partners worksheet, looking up answers on Google, peeking at someone else's screen, whispering answers to someone else, etc. You are responsible for your learning.

What happens if you miss class?

You are responsible to make up your work. Work from home or sign up for a BARC Session. Material missed in class will not be retaught in class.

What if you are missing work? What needs to be done?

Sign up for Mrs. Resch's BARC to make up work. You can also come before or after school if you arrange that time with her.

On tests and quizzes, if I want to redo them how are they graded?

The average is taken. For example, if you scored 80% the first time and 100% the second time, the average of the two tests is 90%. (80+100)/2=90%. Your grade won't be worse, but it won't be the highest score either. Try your best right at the first!

What happens if I am caught using a personal electronic device (P.E.D.)?

It will be confiscated immediately and taken to the office where you can collect it at the end of the day. No warnings. No excuses. It is the law.

What is the consequence of plagiarizing and cheating?

Immediate F (0%) on the assignment, student-teacher conference, parent-teacher conference, and admin can be involved. Automatic "U" in citizenship with disqualifies you from any school incentive activity.
