What materials should be in your supply bag?
Crayons, one glue stick, one pink eraser, scissors, and 3 sharp pencils. Let's check ours and fix them if they're not right!
Unpacking/Morning Work
FIRST - go buy and eat breakfast in the cafe if you need it! Then: Lunch in the lunch cart, hang backpack on a BACK hook if possible, red folder to your desk, get your supply bag and morning journal. Then work on the morning work in your morning journal quietly. If you finish early, you can practice your spelling list!
What do you do if you need to go to the bathroom during class?
Get the magnet, put the magnet outside the bathroom door on a number. Take care of business, wash and dry your hands, and then come back to class. Don't forget to bring your magnet back!
What happens when we go to our screen spots?
We move the round table out of the way. Then we sit in our assigned spot and wait for directions. Guess what... it's time to get NEW screen spots!
pick up trash, clean up math stations, keep my desk neat, keep my supplies in my supply bag, pick up lost items from the floor, keep track of my own jacket/water, help clean my lunch table, be safe with the furniture, or more!
Where do you put dull pencils? Where will you find sharp pencils?
If you have a dull pencil, you put it upside down in the bucket that looks like paper. The sharp pencils will be pointy side up in the pencil bucket.
Packup - what do you do before specials?
Get your backpack, jackets and water bottles. Then put your red folders inside your backpack, take your planner out and open your planner to today's date.
When is a good time to go to the bathroom?
morning work, math stations, snack, independent reading (only once!), lunch, quiet 5, during independent work, or during a GoNoodle!
What should happen during a transition?
Name 3 ways to take care of others.
Use kind words, check on someone who is hurt, play with a safe body at recess, be an upstander, be an includer, make someone happy if they feel sad, and more!

Packup - what do you do when we come back from specials?
Grab your lunch box on the way in if it's in the cart, and go to your desk. You will write in your planner, and then put all materials inside your backpack. Check your area that it is neat, no trash or loose supplies. Put your supply bag away, push in your chair, and then sit at your desk and wait to be called to the rug!
What do you do when the teacher is giving directions?
Listen with a still body, a quiet voice, and eyes on the speaker. Then wait for the magic word to go!
My teacher is working with a student or a small group. What do I need to do?
Be a problem solver! Don't interrupt unless it is an EMERGENCY!
Name 3 ways to take care of yourself.
What are the expectations at snack time?
Sitting at my desk, focused on eating my snack quickly. If talking is allowed - I'm using a correct volume level! I throw away all trash and clean my area when I'm finished. If time runs out, I have to save my snack for lunch or throw it away!
What should the classroom look like at the end of the day?
Chairs pushed in, no trash on the floor, nothing in the cubbies, supplies put away, desks cleared off, furniture not moved around!
What do I do if I find materials on the floor and they're not mine?
Put them in the lost and found!
What are the rules at brain break?
Stay in the brain break area, play safely and kindly, no collecting nature to bring inside, line up quickly and quietly and get ready to learn!
What is audience etiquette? What is active listening?
Audience etiquette is sitting correctly using self control and eyes on the speaker. Active listening is thinking about what the speaker is saying and responding appropriately.
How do I get my chromebook and headphones?
Team captains will stand at the charging stations to hand out devices. Teammates should be quietly lined up waiting to get their device. Once you get your device, you go back to your desk and start logging in. Captains will then walk around and hand out headphones. At the end of tech time, captains will organize the technology area.
What is the procedure for shopping for new books?
On Fridays, two kids at a time will start shopping for books. When they are done, they will put their book box back on the shelf and choose a friend to shop next. You may only shop in the colors assigned to you!
