How will the Common Core Writing Standards be addressed?
Students will be provided with various writing activities that align with the Common Core State Standards. They will also learn about various author's tools and will use pre-writing strategies to develop their writing.
Is it possible for your child to bring home unfinished classwork from the day?
Yes
When can classroom parties with Smart Snack compliant food be scheduled?
Only after lunch

How will the essential fourth grade Common Core State math standards be addressed?
Through the use of the Eureka Math curriculum, guided math, and additional problem solving and creative thinking tasks.
How many minutes of reading per night should your child finish?
20-30 minutes
What two kinds of food can be cleaned and prepared at home to be served after lunch?
ONLY fruits and vegetables

Through the use of STEMscopes and hands-on activities aligned with NGSS. They will rotate between the 3 fourth grade teachers.
What are some activities we suggest you do with your child instead of a lot of homework each night?

When can NON-FOOD celebrations occur at school?
Anytime throughout the school day.
Only 1-if more than 1 is taken on any day, the last one taken will be deleted and your child is not allowed to take that test again.
How many AR tests can your child take per day and what happens if they take more than this amount?

When are conferences held and who should you bring with you?
Conferences are only held in November and you should bring your child. *Spring conferences will be held on an as needed basis

A student will need to meet each trimester goal and earn 150 points by May 2025. Students who achieve this goal will be taken on a special outing with some of the fourth and fifth grade teachers.
