Some people do what's called "cutting," where they might make small cuts on their body because their brain believes it causes relief from stress.
Is this true? Does it relieve stress?
No, cutting does NOT relieve stress and can cause more problems - and even infections. If you know someone who is cutting (or think that someone is cutting), please go and tell a trusted adult right away. They won't get in trouble - PROMISE! - but there are things therapists can do to help.
