Brazil - Going to the beach, wearing white clothing, January first, jumping into the ocean, throwing flowers into the ocean.

China - Lunar new year or spring festival in February, lasts for 15 days and dates change every year, clean their homes, paper lanterns, the color red, feast with family, and red envelopes with money in them for kids.

Spain - Eating one grape every time the bell chimes (12 grapes total), people gather at Madrid's Puerta del Sol clock tower, festive meal that goes late, January first.

South Africa - Music and parties in the street, fireworks, large public events, January 1st, throwing out old furniture and appliances to start fresh. 

Iran - Persian celebration that falls on the Spring equinox (March 21), called Nowruz translated to New Day, set up an alter called Haft-seen translated to seven S's, place symbols on the alter of what you would like to bring into the New Year.

Ethiopia - Enkutatash translated to gift of jewels, September 11th, attending church, traditional meals, kids wear new clothes while gathering flowers and giving them to friends, exchanging greetings and cards.
