Only if we are in designated work time and Ms. Fellows allows it.

Talk to Ms. Wright before class starts / ask to speak with her outside. You must communicate your feelings in order for Ms. Wright to help you navigate them!

What are the two complete books we read this year?

Frankenstein and Frederick Douglass's memoir! All other readings will be excerpts or short stories.

When you want to speak in class, what should you do?
Raise your hand and wait to be called on.
When can you go to the bathroom?
What must you do to use the bathroom during class?
During class, you must wait until Ms. Wright is done with instruction.
You must fill out a pass in SmartPass, and wait until it lets you go. If your pass is not working, try again later. I don't need to know it isn't working.
When you have created your pass, leave your computer on your desk and turn it towards Ms. Wright.
What do you need to have on your desk at the beginning of class?
Your Amplify textbook and a pencil. We will use these textbooks just about every day.
How can you show respect towards Ms. Wright and the classroom during lessons (list at least 4 ways)?
Listen when she is talking, raise your hand if you want to talk, pick up trash when you see it, arrive ON TIME, collaborate with peers kindly, have out the correct materials, do the work that is asked of you, treat classroom supplies with respect and return them appropriately
How late after a due date can I turn in an assignment to receive FULL credit?
Two weeks
What should you do if you know you will miss class?
Email Ms. Wright the day(s) you will be absent and make sure you look at Google Classroom or ask a classmate to get any notes/assignments you missed.
What is Google Classroom used for?
Most written assignments, announcements, uploaded reading from the day, etc.
How many essays are we writing this year?
What should you do if you see our classroom looks disorganized/messy?
What is cheating, and what happens if you cheat on work in this class?
Cheating can be: copying someone else's work, looking up answers, using AI, talking to someone during an assessment, using notes when not allowed, having someone else do your work for you.
You will receive an automatic zero, marked as "CHEATING" in grade book, and your family will be contacted about the incident.
Should you ask Ms. Wright what you are missing for assignments first?
NO! You must look at Infinite Campus first. If you have specific questions after looking, then you can ask.
Will Ms. Wright play music during class?
Yes! During independent work time and assessments, I will most likely turn on instrumental music.
