Where can the gradebook function be found in MSIS?

The Academics section on the top menu bar.

What does entering an "A" in a grade cell mean?

The assignment has been assigned but not yet graded or the student has not turned it in (missing).

Red.

After the last date to enter or edit grades.

How do you locate your gradebook in MSIS?

Use the gradebook search page, select your name, and click on the Gradebook button.

What should be done with blank cells before the end of the term?

They must be filled with either a grade or an "E" for exemption.

How do you know if a student has been transferred out of your section?

Their name appears at the bottom in red with a message stating they have transferred

MSIS will calculate it as a zero, which is why 'A' is NOT to remain in the gradebook.

Their name returns to its original position in black.

What is the purpose of the report card icon in the Elementary gradebook?

It displays the student’s grade-to-date based on assignments.

From oldest to newest, left to right.

What must all "A" entries be changed to before the quarter ends?

A numerical grade. Provide the student with a replacement assignment or a makeup assignment.

If the student does NOT complete either (before the end of the quarter), then enter 0.

What does the comment icon in a student’s row allow you to do?

Add comments that will appear on the report card at the end of the term.

Why are the 'Notes' important?

Notes allow for communication, distinctions & differentiation to be elaborated on regarding the students' assignments.

Example:

Student BJ used the sorting task box to sort numbers 1-5.

Group A:
Used manipulative to add single digit number 1-9

How is an assignment is marked as "Extra Credit"?

1. Add the additional points to each student's column in the gradebook for the assignment listed.
Example: 55/50

2. Add an additional assignment, name it 'Extra Credit', and assign the points to the students.

How can you edit assignment notes?

Hover over the notes field and click the edit icon, then save.

Can assignments be edited after grades are finalized?

No, grades are locked after the deadline.
