2 iPaaS competitors and 1 of their respective strengths
What are Dell Boomi, Informatica, Snaplogic, Jitterbit, etc?
3 financial services customers of MuleSoft
Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Charles Schwab, SunTrust, Mascoma Bank, etc.
I'm running into a meeting, call me back later.
Totally understand -- can I have 30 seconds to share the reason for my call to see if it makes sense to call back?
This problem is one of the key concerns for IT executives -- too many projects and not enough resources.
What is the "IT Delivery Gap"?
The most senior executive in an enterprise responsible for the traditional information technology and computer systems that support enterprise goals.
Who is the CIO?
We have Apigee.
What are you using it for?
Great to hear! That's an awesome product for managing currently existing APIs.
How are you creating new ones?
Name a customer with an established C4E.
Unilever (Adaptive Integration Team), VMware, Santander
Totally understand, things are starting to get crazy around here too as we finish out the year. Typically, companies start planning for next year in Q4 and I think we can add a lot of value in that planning phase by giving you examples of XYZ competitors, where they struggled, and where they found success.
This technology theory encouraged the reuse of assets across the organization, but failed because those assets were heavyweight & difficult to understand.
What is Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)?
Leads the program to develop, maintain and govern the architecture across the organization. Accountable for highly complex enterprise wide projects that require in-depth knowledge across multiple specialized architecture domains.
Who is the VP of Architecture or Chief Architect?
We are using IBM for middleware and Kong for API management.
Interesting... both great tools and not uncommon at all. Are you using both enterprise wide?
The reason I ask is that our customers tell us that having multiple tools introduces friction into the development process.
What is an example of a customer where we co-exist with Apigee?
McDonald's, Bank of America
We don't have money for this.
What's this?
Have you thought about the problem / business implications like X?
This customer has a 2-person C4E, checking the validity of any new API created and either passing it along or sending it back for adjustments.
Who is VMware?
The role involves identifying and leveraging business opportunities that have been or could be enabled by digital solutions and innovations. It involves focusing on customers (internal & external) and how their interactions might change as a result of technological developments & innovation.
Who is the VP of Digital or Chief Digital Officer?
Wow, that's impressive. I've heard you guys have an awesome development team. We actually work with companies like Netflix, Amazon and Spotify that have robust, powerful development teams and they're using the platform to accelerate their development time of new services & to manage the thousands of services they're putting into production.
What is an example of a TIBCO takeout?
Intel, Healthfirst, Air Canada, Bank of America
We already have that covered.
What do you have covered?
Oh, so you have X tool? And are you using it to do Y?
What are you doing about the other side of things?
This technology is the key to API-led Connectivity, allowing IT teams to move away from project-to-project delivery and to start enabling reuse.
What is the "Modern API"?
Experience leading the deployment of multiple enterprise / SaaS applications. Senior leader responsible for all aspects of product and technical vision, strategy, design, development and support of key components of shared platforms and services including; marketing websites, marketing automation/personalization, CRM, mobile/web applications, data lake/warehouse, advanced analytics, finance/planning, and data integrations.
Who is the VP/Director of Enterprise Applications?
I was just sold on API-led with Dell Boomi. What's the difference between your API-led and Dell's?
How do you define API-led connectivity?
We think about API-led connectivity as being an enterprise-wide solution. Dell is fantastic at solving tactical integration challenges -- one system to another. But as you go to scale API-led connectivity you will continue to add reusable assets and Boomi's platform won't scale to those needs. And even if it could, it would be incredibly expensive. Additionally, we're working with companies like McDonald's and Pfizer who are currently building the world's largest "Application Networks" (based on API-led) and we can off the insights from a people & process perspective that would be required of your organization.
The 1 minute customer story for McDonald's
McDonald’s executive team understood the importance of embracing digital:
to better interact with customers,
open new revenue streams, and
enable innovation.
To do so, they embraced APIs with the intention of making data more accessible for their developers.
The team selected an API Gateway tool but it could not handle their heavy orchestration needs.
Silo’d teams of developers were handwriting code and struggling to deliver initiatives on time.
They decided to revisit their strategy, realizing the problem went deeper than managing APIs.
They opted for MuleSoft’s platform due to its unified on-prem and cloud integration capabilities, and full API lifecycle tool.
Now, their once separate API and integration teams are working cross-functionally,
Leveraging a reusable network of APIs to avoid “reinventing the wheel” with every project.
Their entire digital footprint -- including a real-time pricing app across 119 countries, and a $200m loyalty program -- is built on MuleSoft.
Now, they can launch new initiatives in 1/3 the time and dedicate more of the team to innovation. With MuleSoft, 88% of the team is focused on innovation, a huge improvement from the 30-50% that previously did it.
I had a bad experience with MuleSoft at my previous company.
Sorry to hear that... What went wrong?
What is MuleSoft Catalyst?
A person usually operating within a scope of one application (system). His main task is to monitor the whole system, understand all interactions between components on a given level of abstraction, as well as to define limitations and requirements for source code.
Who is an Application Architect or Software Architect?
