This was the longest and first musical era that we discussed. Based almost entirely on church music.
Medieval era.

He was the reason that counterpoint existed. Wrote many fugues and cello suites. He had 20 kids and married his cousin!
Bach
The most particular music was written during this time period. There was a decrease of ornamentation and more simple melodies were used.
Musical term for when two different parts and sounds of music are happening at the same time.

I almost solely wrote piano pieces. I was very dramatic in my music which went along with the Romantic era I was writing in.

I am the most famous Classical Composer of the era. I started playing piano at a very young age. I am known for writing many operas including Don Giovanni.

Musical era where expression made a comeback. Dissonance was found frequently.
Romantic Era
Part writing basics established by Bach. How harmony and melody work together to establish multiple part music.
