What is a measure?
A section of music enclosed by two bar lines, that has a particular amount of beats designated by the time signature

What does a dot underneath a note mean?
Staccato- play the note with a short bow stroke
What does fine mean?
Finish or stop
What is a double bar line?
Two lines that signify the end of a piece of music

What is a coda?
The ending of a piece of music

What is a tie?
It is written like a slur, but combines two notes of the same pitch into one longer note.

What is a key signature?
Between the clef and the time signature, it tells you the key or scale of the piece. It designates the sharps and flats used.

A note played with emphasis or an attack compared to the notes around it
What does DC mean?
Da Capo or the head. It means go back to the beginning of the piece.
What is a round?
A round is where the same musical phrase is played several measures apart by different people

What is a fermata or birds eye?
Hold the note until the composer cuts you off
First time through play the first ending, repeat to the last repeat sign, then play the second ending
