I am typically responsible for building and maintaining county roads and bridges within the precinct

This person has broad judicial duties, such as presiding over misdemeanor criminal and small civil cases, probate matters and appeals from the Justice of the Peace Court

I hear landlord/tenant disputes as well as most Class C misdemeanor cases
Who is the Justice of the Peace?
I act as a recorder and custodian of important public records. Including: bonds, deeds, birth and death certificates, marriage certificates, assumed names and livestock brands.

I can be the entity that also registers you to vote
Who is my Tax Collector/ Assessor?
This person represents victims of violence in protective orders and represents the state in removing children from abusive households
Who is the District Attorney?
I process motor vehicle title transfers.
Who is the Tax Collector/ Assessor?
I serve as a licensed peace officer and am responsible for enforcing the criminal laws of the state
Who is the Sheriff?
I make sure you have hospitals, emergency medical service districts, immunization centers, mental health services and set up 9-1-1 systems
What is the county commissioners court?
This person brings civil enforcement actions on behalf of the state or county
Who is the county attorney?
I manage and operate the county jail.
Who is the Sheriff?
I have the most hated job in the county, as I am in charge of calculating property tax rates
Who is the Tax-Collector/ Assessor?
I serve as the chief elections officer aka, I conduct elections for all levels of government — local, state and federal. I set up precincts and polling places and coordinate the workers and volunteers that staff them. I also keep voting records and track turnout
