I was the first Women’s Soccer Coach at Cornell University following the passage of Title IX, which required among other things equal status to Women’s Sports. I successfully contested one of the first Title IX issues with the University’s Provost office in the Fall of 1977. The following year I became Women’s Soccer Coach at Colorado State University and was the Director of the Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women, Women Soccer Program and facilitated the transfer of Women’s Soccer from a club to varsity status on a nationwide basis. This work was later translated to the NCAA after the two organizations merged in 1982.
