Although the aim of this political game is "wiping out the opposition", players today tend to use fear, intimidation, shaming, bad-mouthing, etc. to "put down" the opposition.

This political game involves hard bargaining with the objective of achieving a win-win situation. The key players are often politicians who want something they cannot get without help from political opponents.
What is horse trading?
Legal right or power to give orders and enforce the rules.
What is authority?
Power comes from the power holder's ability to persuade others to identify with them. (Like a cult leader or church pastor.)
What is referent power?
The quality of being an accepted authority (trusted, valid, etc.)
What is legitimacy?
The key players in this political game have a goal of bringing attention to some law or policy that they disagree with in the hopes of ending it. (Usually involves ordinary citizens who are protesting an injustice.)
What is civil disobedience?
A product or service that is available for all people to consume, whether they pay for it or not. (Like street lights or roads.)
What is a public good?
Power comes from the power holder's ability to give something of value, such as money, responsibility, or praise. (Like a teacher grading an essay.)
What is the power of Reward?
Established organizations and the rules that guide them (like the Constitutional Republic...America)
What are institutions?
Key players in this game attempt to outwit or "outfox" their opponents to get what they need. (Perhaps the Russian President Putin trying to use troops on the Ukrainian border to keep Ukraine out of NATO.)
What is Power Struggle?
The right to exercise supreme authority over a geographic region. (as in a country's borders)
What is sovereign or sovereignty?
Power comes from the power holder's specific skills or expertise. (Like a doctor advising the President on the facts about COVID.)
What is expertise?
Governments combine several of these to get citizens to act in a certain way.

Players in this political game take something away by removing themselves (labor strike) or refusing to play until the opposition gives them what they want.
What is a walk out?
The purpose of this institution is to maintain public order, protect life and property, and provide public goods.

Power comes from the power holder's ability to punish or penalize others. (Like the police or school principal.)
