Likely the Pretectum. Remember Argyll-Robertson pupils? Neurosyphilis often causes this and Getz related this to prostitution. The pupils accommodate but they don't react.

Margaret comes into your office with a "funny" expression on her face that she cannot voluntarily correct. When she forces a smile to try and make light of her strange situation, you notice she can only smile with the right side of her face. Her corneal touch reflex is normal bilaterally, but her right eye is elevated and she tell you that when she tries to look down, she gets double vision. Assuming Margaret has 2 lesions, where do you think they could be?

1. rt hemisphere lesion M1 face area would explain not being about to smile on the left side. 2. left side lesion of trochlear nerve to right superior oblique.

Motor

Jack is right-handed and he is having trouble with the motion of brushing his teeth in the morning. Regardless, he continues to try. If he had a brain lesion that was causing this, where would it be?

If you blindfold Tony and place a gummy worm in his right hand, he yells "gross! what is that!?!" If you put it in his left hand, he eats it. If Tony has a lesion, where is it? What normal ability does he lack?

1. left side sensory association cortex/post. parietal 2. stereognosia- knowing what something is by touch alone.

Blood Supply

If Marcus is having trouble with accuracy of his trunk, leg, head, and eye movements. He is also having problems with posture, locomotion, and gaze. If we know that blood supply to his cerebellum has been compromised, what artery do you think is involved?

This one is kind of tricky. The Superior Cerebellar Artery supplies all of the deep cerebellar nuclei + vermis. So it supplies the fastigal nucleus (posture, locomotion, gaze), globose and emboliform (reaching and grasping), and dentate (motor learning of distal limbs). If the lesion were in the brain, it would likely be in the MI because this is where the actual motor program descends from.
