Women made many important contributions to the economy. Some women ran farms and businesses such as clothing and grocery stores, bakeries, and drugstores. Women who worked in the home would earn money for their families by selling products like butter and providing paid services such as washing clothes.

Education was important for religious reasons. First, the members of New England communities wanted to establish schools so that the children would be able to read the Bible. Also, the community members wanted to make sure that future generations would have educated ministers.

How did the growth of New England Colonies lead to conflict with Native Americans?

 As colonists spread across New England, they settled where NAtive Americans lived. The colonists believed that if they claimed the area, the land was theirs and the Native Americans should leave. Arguments over land ownership sometimes led to wars between the two groups.
