Morning Routine
What should you do as soon as you enter the classroom in the morning?
Lunch choice, folder and agenda away, read the slide then begin your morning work.
What does it mean to raise your hand?
You wait to be called on before speaking.
Mrs. Mackey gave a direction to be ready to walk in the hall. What does that mean?
Quietly in a straight line, behind the person in front of you, looking forward, hands to yourself.
If you lost something, like a glue stick cap or whiteboard marker, where should you look before telling Mrs. Mackey that is is lost?

What does respect mean?
Being kind and thoughtful to others through words and actions.
Where do toys, fidgets, or other items from home belong during the school day?
In your backpack in your locker. Not in your desk!
Or even better, leave them at home :)
How should you listen when someone else is talking? (Teacher or kid speakers)
Eyes on speaker, ears listening, body still = active listening!
What does "hands to yourself" mean?
Do not touch others or their things.
Your pencil broke in the middle of a lesson. What should you do?
Put your dull one in the dull cup, take a sharp pencil from the sharp cup.
If there are none, look in the drawer by the sink.
How can you show respect to your teacher?
Listen, follow directions, be polite, make safe choices.
What should you do if you arrive late to school?
Quietly enter the room, give Mrs. Mackey your pink late pass from the office, join the class activity.
What should you do if you make a mistake when working?
Erase and try again - that is why pencils are made with erasers :)
Learn from the mistake, and keep trying your best!
What should your voice level be in the hallway?
Silent or voice off.
Always silent on the ramp!
Can you replace your own supplies without asking?
Yes! Solve your missing materials problem by looking for crayons, pencils, erasers in the drawers by the sink.
Remember, take ONLY what you need, and use them correctly.
What should you do if someone is being unkind?
What should everyone hear during morning work time?
The musical timer. Quietly talking to a neighbor is ok, but no louder than a whisper because morning work is a quiet time.
What should you do when you are working during rotations?
Stay focused and on task
Whisper when working with a partner, if allowed
Choose a good learning space
Clean up and move on when the timer goes off
What do you do if the class stops in the hallway?
Stop, face forward, and wait quietly.
On the chromebook rack, in number order, name facing the windows, and plugged in (if not fully charged already).
What does responsibility mean?
Doing your job and making safe and appropriate choices.
What do you do if you finish the morning work assignment before the timer goes off?
Read to self, work on anything in red folder, practice spelling words for the week.

Where should you meet Mrs. Mackey when walking back to our classroom from specials, lunch or recess?
Standing quietly in front of your locker.
What supplies should you have in your toolbox in your desk?
Dry erase marker, eraser, pencils, sticky notes, glue stick, scissors.
How can you be a classroom leader?
Be a role model and help others when you can.
