Half of the light reflects of the silver part of the one-way mirror, and half of the light transmits through the glass part of the one-way mirror.

Before break we shined a heat lamp onto a clear plastic cup, and a clear plastic cup wrapped in aluminum foil. Which cup heated up less, and why did it do this?

The aluminum foil cup heated up less because the foil reflected the light, so it could not heat up the water.
