Paco wants to find out weather the baseballs used in his league fly farther than the baseballs used the year before. He has noticed that many more home runs have been hit this year than last year, so he thinks the new balls have more bounce. Paco wants to design an experiment to test this idea. State Paco's hypothesis, the independent variable, dependent variable, and one variable that must be held constant in Paco's experiment.
Hypothesis- If a new baseball has more bounce then it will fly further and lead to more home runs.
Independent Variable- the new baseball
Dependent Variable- the distance the ball goes or the number of home runs
Constant- type of bat, same pitcher, wind, and person batting
