Name two ways we can know the flood covered the entire globe.
The wording in the Bible is clear; it says the water covered the highest hills. Also, Jesus and Peter spoke of the global nature of the flood. And the rainbow covenant reminds us that the flood was global. Fossils, including those of sea creatures, are found all over the world—even on top of the tallest mountains.
How did God show his mercy and grace to sinners?
He sent Jesus to take the punishment for sin, so anyone who believes has eternal life through faith in him.

Name one thing that would have caused the ice age after the flood. (Refer to the conditions of the earth after the flood that would have led to an ice age.)
• Volcanic ash blocked out the sun and made the land cold.
• Hot magma warmed the oceans which caused water to evaporate and lots of snow to fall over a long period of time.
• The cold weather from the blocked sun caused glaciers and sheets of ice to form until about one- third of the planet was covered by ice.

Recite our 3 Memory Verses for this Unit:
Genesis 6:5
John 10:9
2 Timothy 3:16-17
Genesis 6:5 Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
John 10:9 I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture
2 Timothy 3:16-17 16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
Is it a good idea to listen to our heart and follow its desires? Why or why not?
No. The Bible describes the evil that is in the heart of every person. We should follow God and do what he has commanded in his Word.
Name one way the work of Christ was foreshadowed in the events of the flood.
Possibilities include:
•There was only one way to be saved from the flood—on the ark. There is only one way to be saved from the punishment of sin and death—through Jesus.
• Noah was saved by God’s grace through faith in the promised Messiah. Salvation comes by God’s grace only to those who have faith in Jesus, the Messiah.
• God was with Noah and his family throughout that frightening event, and he protected them and likely comforted them. When we receive Jesus as our Savior, God the Holy Spirit comforts and protects us.
• After Noah entered the ark, God closed the door. Those people outside who chose not to enter the ark were left to face the destructive force of the flood. We have only this one life to enter Christ’s door of Salvation—the only name by which we may be saved. We never know how long we have before it will be too late

world that confirms what the Bible says about the
confusion of languages?

similar to the event the Bible describes.
Why did God confuse the languages at Babel?
The people disobeyed God’s command to multiply and fill the earth. Instead they gathered together to build a city and a tower and to make a name for themselves. God was judging their sinful actions and forcing them to fill the earth as he had commanded.
